About BCDBC
The BCDBC is committed to establishing outreach to every area of Broward County: north, south, east, west and central regions. We strive to support the philosophy of the Democratic Party by liaising with Florida state Democratic leaders, Broward Democratic Party and local Democratic elected officials, representing the concerns of Broward Black population, while holding our leaders accountable. We believe in collaboration. United we stand, divided we fall.
Our History
Black delegates attending the FDP Convention in 1981 were stirred to action to address the lack of power and influence of Blacks within the party. They organized and created the DBCF. In 1983, the FDP recognized the caucus as an official affiliate. Broward residents who are registered Black Democrats have an automatic general membership. However, to become an active voting member, enjoying the privileges of full participation in programming and decision-making, paid membership is required.
